Kroger customer alleges negligence after fall at grocery store

HOUSTON — A Harris County customer says she slipped and fell on a liquid at a Kroger grocery store in Houston. 

Sharon Crump filed a complaint Nov. 26 in the Harris County District Court against Kroger Texas LP alleging negligence. 

According to the complaint, Crump was shopping at a Kroger grocery store on Veterans Memorial Drive in Houston on Aug. 5, 2018 when she slipped on "water or other liquid" that was on the ground. The suit states Crump fell and suffered injuries including to her neck, back and shoulders and sustained disfigurement and mental anguish. 

The plaintiff accuses Kroger's of negligence and alleges it should have known about the "unreasonably dangerous" condition and that the store failed to correct or warn her about the alleged spill. 

Crump seeks monetary relief of up to $100,000, trial by jury, court costs and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney Mariah Bhatti of The Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
