HOUSTON — A Texas woman alleges she was assaulted and falsely arrested for videoing her boyfriend being pulled over and arrested by two Baytown police officers.

Jessica Solis filed a complaint Dec. 13 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against the city of Baytown and police officers Samuel Serrett and Teddy Sims, alleging violation of her First, Fourth and 14th Amendment rights.

According to her complaint, Solis and her boyfriend were pulled over May 27, by Serrett, an officer with the Baytown police. The suit states Serrett alleged Solis' boyfriend was driving while intoxicated, with Sims also arriving at the scene. Solis said she began recording the event on her cell phone as her boyfriend was arrested.

The suit alleges Serrett asked Solis for her cell phone and when she did not comply, he forcibly threw her to ground and falsely arrested her for intoxication. Her charges were dropped a few days later, according to the suit. The plaintiff alleges the arrest led to mental anguish, physical pain and disfigurement.

Solis seeks trial by jury, exemplary/punitive damages, interest, court costs and all other just relief. She is represented by attorneys T. Dean Malone and Michael O'Conner of The Law Offices of Dean Malone PC in Dallas.
