HOUSTON — A Fort Bend County woman and her daughter allege they were injured when the mother's walker caught on a sidewalk defect in the Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital parking lot.

Mary Rodgers and Chandra Rodgers-Grant filed a complaint Dec. 10 in Harris County District Court against HCP Ventures V LLC and Memorial Hermann Health System, alleging premises liability/negligence.

According to the complaint, on June 14, 2018, Rodgers-Grant was helping her mother Mary Rodgers walk with her walker on a sidewalk in the Memorial Herman Southwest Hospital parking lot. The plaintiffs allege the walker wheel "got tripped up" on a sidewalk surface defect, causing Rodgers to fall with her daughter falling on top of her. Both women suffered injuries, according to the suit.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief between $100,000 and $200,000, trial by jury, interest, costs of suit and all other just relief. They are represented by attorney Nichole Nech of The Nech Law Firm PC in Houston.
