Woman claims "defective" stairs caused her fall at Houston apartment complex

HOUSTON — A woman who tripped, fell and suffered injuries on a staircase at an apartment complex in Houston is alleging the manager/owner's negligence. 

Ruth Hayes filed a complaint Jan. 20 in the Harris County District Court against Nals Chandler 98 LP Chandler Apartment Homes and others alleging liability and negligent hiring, supervision, training or retention. 

Hayes alleges in her suit that on Feb. 11, 2018 while leaving her apartment home on Eldridge Parkway in Houston, that she tripped and fell on "defective" stairs. She claims the defendant, who owns and manages the complex, failed to inspect and warn of the hazardous stairs. 

Hayes seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Nathan Inurria and George Farah of The Farah Law Group PLLC in Houston.
