HOUSTON — A man who worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a safety trainer is suing the company after he fell to the ground and suffered significant injuries when a classroom stool cushion came off.

George Moore II filed a complaint  Jan. 22 in the Harris County District Court against Union Pacific Railroad Company alleging negligence.

Moore was working for Union Pacific as a rules and safety trainer. He alleges that on Feb. 16, 2017 while sitting on a classroom stool, the cushion came off and caused him to fall to the ground. Moore claims he suffered injuries to his neck, back and right shoulder which required surgeries.  He claims Union Pacific failed to provide "reasonably safe working conditions, equipment and tools."

Moore seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million,  interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Sara Youngdahl of Youngdahl Law Firm PC in Houston and Nelson Wolff and Celia Douglas of Schlichter Bogard & Denton LLP in St. Louis.
