HOUSTON — Park Manor of South Belt is facing a suit by the estate of a former resident who died from complications suffered after a fall.

Diana Mayhew, individually and as personal representative of the Estate of Nadine Cochran and Michael Cochran filed a complaint Jan. 29 in the Harris County District Court against HMG Park Manor of Soutbelt LLC and Park Manor of South Belt alleging wrongful death.

Nadine Cochran, was an 85 year old who suffered from dementia and had undergone an above the right knee amputation and a resident at Park Manor of South Belt. The plaintiffs allege that Cochran suffered a fall on April 4, 2018 during a transfer which caused her right hip to be fractured. The plaintiffs claim that as a result of her fall, her health declined and on June 15, 2018 after being transferred to Memorial Hermann where she died, it was discovered she had a neck fracture, sepsis and acute renal failure.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief.  They are represented by Melanie Medina of Brown Christie & Green in Houston.
