RICHMOND — A Texas couple is facing a negligence suit after a minor suffered injuries at their party when someone put accelerant on an open pit fire causing an explosion.

Stephen Kilgore, individually and on behalf of A.K., a minor filed a complaint Jan. 21 in the Fort Bend County District Court against Graham and Ingrid Collier alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, A.K. was attending a party at the Collier's Fort Bend County property on Dec. 22, 2019. The plaintiffs allege that an "unsupervised minor party guest" put accelerant fuel on the open pit fire that caused an explosion and A.K. to suffer severe injuries.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief in excess of $1 million, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. They are presented by S. Scott West of The West Law Firm in Sugar Land.
