RICHMOND — A Fort Bend County man claims a couple he loaned $29,000 refuses to pay him back in violation of a written agreement.

Atta Hussain filed a complaint Jan. 27 in the Fort Bend County District Court against Mohammad Pathan & Farhat Sultana alleging breach of contract and fraud.

According to the complaint, Hussain loaned the defendants $29,000 on Dec. 5, 2018. He alleges that the defendants gave him a check for that amount with an agreement he would hold the check until October 2019 if the loan had not been repaid by then. Hussain claims the defendants deny owing him the money and fraudulently allege the check he wrote involved payment to a third-party who Hassian allegedly owed money.

Hussain seeks monetary relief of $29,000, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by David Schleicher of The Schleicher Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
