HOUSTON – A man filed a lawsuit against the nonprofit Helping Hands to the Community, claiming he suffered injuries from a chemical cleaning agent.

Calvin Cains filed a complaint Feb 10 in the Harris County District Court against Helping Hands to the Community Inc., alleging premises liability and negligence.

Cains, a customer at Helping Hands on Aug. 22, 2018, said he was told by one of the Helping Hands employees to get in the back of a vehicle to be transported. Cains said there was a leaking bottle of a cleaning chemical stored in the back of the vehicle that caused him to suffer injuries.

Cains seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Jeffrey Todd of The Todd Law Group PLLC in Houston.
