HOUSTON — An attorney and his wife are claiming their $100,000 in investment funds were fraudulently used for a company officer's personal living expenses.

Myall Hawkins and Elizabeth Hawkins filed a complaint Feb. 14 in the Harris County District Court against Ultra Fine Silica GP LLC, Ultra Fine Silica LP and Lance Hammond alleging breach of contract.

The Hawkins allege in their complaint that they were solicited in February of 2019 by the defendants for investment funds in the procurement of sand mines and equipment used for fracking of horizontal wells. The Hawkins agreed to wire-transfer $100,000 to the defendants and claim in the fall of 2019, they learned their investments funds were used for the defendant Hammond's company officer's personal living expenses.

The Hawkins seek monetary relief in excess of $100,000, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Attorney Myall Hawkins in Pearland.
