HOUSTON — A woman is claiming that she discovered she was  fraudulently sold a mobile home and lot after years of making payments to the seller.

Anabel Perez filed a complaint Feb. 12 in the Harris County District Court against Maria Ramirez alleging breach of contract, fraud and violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act.

Perez entered into an $81,000 purchase agreement with Ramirez on March 14, 2011 for a double-wide mobile home in Humble. Perez alleges that after making several years of payments of $850 per month, when she attempted to give Ramirez the final payment it was refused. She claims Ramirez falsely accused her of not keeping up insurance on the property and of defaulting on their loan agreement. Perez alleges she also learned Ramirez did not have a clear title to sell the property.

Perez seeks monetary relief in excess of $40,000, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Attorney Anis Damani in Houston.
