RICHMOND — A man is suing a homeowner who hired him to fix his pool after he was chased and bitten by his dog.

Eduardo Santos filed a complaint Feb. 28 in the Fort Bend County District Court against Rahman Butler alleging liability and negligence.

Santos was hired by Butler to fix the pool at his home in Richmond. He alleges that he was at Butler's home a total of four times and that during two of those times, Butler's dog was loose and attempted to bite him and that he alerted Butler about his dog's behavior. Santos claims on June 3, 2019, while he was working on Butler's pool, the dog chased him and bit him on his ankle causing paresthesia of his foot. Santos alleges Butler knew of his dog's aggressive behavior and failed to secure the dog.

Santos seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Fernando Lopez of The Law Office of Fernando J. Lopez in Weslaco.
