Woman claims she was sexually harassed while working cleaning crew night shift at Houston Hilton

HOUSTON — A woman who worked for cleaning service on a night crew at a Houston Hilton claims she faced sexual harassment and retaliation. 

Joseline Hernandez filed a complaint March 3 in the Harris County District Court against Preferred Cleaning Services LLC, doing business as Preferred Cleaning Service Inc., alleging violation of the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act.

Hernandez began working on Preferred's night cleaning crew at Hilton Americas-Houston in July of 2018. She alleges that her supervisor sexually harassed her, including asking if her breasts were real and grabbing parts of her body. She also claims she faced sexual harassment by various hotel guests while on the night shift. Hernandez alleges that when she complained about the harassment, her supervisor retaliated against her and caused her to be fired. 

Hernandez seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Dorian Vandenberg-Rodes and Taneska Jones of Shellist Lazarz Slobin LLP in Houston.
