HOUSTON — A North Carolina man is claiming negligence after he tripped over an exposed sprinkler head near the parking lot of the Doubletree Hotel at Houston's airport.

Robert Paradis filed a complaint March 7 in the Harris County District Court against Doubletree Hotels LLC, Merritt Hospitality LLC and others alleging premises liability and negligence.

Paradis was a guest at the Doubletree Hotel near the Houston airport on March 14, 2018 while on a business trip. He alleges that while leaving the hotel to catch his flight, he tripped over an uncovered sprinkler head in the grassy median near the hotel parking lot. He claims he fell "violently" on the concrete parking lot and suffered injury to his hand, body and fractured both his wrists.

Paradis seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Kenneth Baird of The Baird Law Firm in Houston.
