HOUSTON — A woman who was attending an outdoor event and fell onto a broken sprinkler and suffered a gash on her ankle is claiming the property owner's negligence.

Ann Marie Schweizer filed a complaint March 12 in the Harris County District Court against Luong's Corporation alleging negligence.

Schweizer was attending an outdoor event at the defendant's property in Tomball on March 16, 2018. She alleges that while walking on a grassy area, she stepped on a broken sprinkler that caused her foot to go into a hole and suffered a gash on her ankle and injury to her Achilles tendon and paratendonitis. Schweizer claims there was no warning or lighting in the area near the broken sprinkler.

Schweizer seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Anna McMullen and Veronica Villarreal of The Amaro Law Firm in Houston.
