HOUSTON —  A seaman working aboard a Helix Energy Solution's vessel is claiming he suffered injury to his back, neck, legs and other areas of his body as a result of unsafe equipment and improper training of the crew.

Patrick Little filed a complaint March 12 in the Harris County District Court against Helix Energy Solutions Group Inc., alleging negligence.

Little was working aboard the MODU Q5000 in August of 2019 and employed under the Jones Act as a seaman. He alleges that he suffered severe injuries to his back, neck, legs and other parts of his body due to the vessel's unsafe equipment, procedures and improperly trained crew.

Little seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Sean O'Rourke of Simon-O'Rourke PC in Webster.
