RICHMOND —  The Katy Hills Mall and others are facing a negligence suit alleging a minor suffered injuries while playing at the mall's Spring Grounds area.

Lannie  Bonilla, individually and as next friend of C.F.B., a minor, filed a complaint March 17 in the Fort Bend County District Court against Mall at Katy Mills LP, Simon Property Group LP and Kimco Facility  Services LLC alleging premises liability.

C.F.B., was at the Katy Mills Mall with his family on June 16, 2018. Bonilla alleges that while playing at the mall's Spring Grounds area, C.F.B., slipped and fell due to a "defect on the premises" and suffered injuries. She claims the mall failed to correct or warn of the dangerous condition.

Bonilla seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, trial by jury and all other appropriate relief. They are represented by Lauryn Redden and Jimmy Sunosky of Hernandez Redden Sunosky LLP in Houston.
