GALVESTON — A Texas man is suing a Lousiana casino and others due to injuries he suffered after a valet drove past his car and struck his passenger side door while he was leaning into his car to unload luggage.

Billy Nelson filed a complaint March 23 in the Galveston County District Court against Penn National Gaming Inc., L'Auberge Du Lac Hotel & Casino and others alleging negligence.

Nelson was at the L'Auberge Casino Resort in Lake Charles, Calcasieu Parish, Lousiana on July 26, 2018. He alleges that he was leaning into the passenger side of his Toyota Tundra that was parked in the valet lane to unload his luggage, when a valet driver drove through the drop-off lane and struck his passenger door. Nelson claims he suffered injury to his back shoulders and left side of his body.

Nelson seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Dennis Brown and Justin Adkins of Dennis L. Brown PC in Bellaire.
