RICHMOND —  A woman who was injured when the ceiling in her business rental space collapsed is claiming negligence.

Jahalyia Chambers filed a complaint March 25 in the Fort Bend County District Court against Tuscany Villages Salons Due, LLC alleging negligence.

Chambers, an aesthetician, leased space for her business on Tuscany's Missouri City property through June of 2019. She alleges that in November of 2018, she informed Tuscany's management that she saw ceiling panels in her rental space that were stained and sagging from weight of water without any prompt action being taken. Chambers claims on June. 6, 2019, the roof collapsed with debris falling on her and causing her to suffer neck and back injuries.

Chambers seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Robert Kwok and Winfield Williams of Kwok Daniel LTD, LLP in Houston.
