Former MassMutual, insurance product sales manager faces suit alleging breach of contract

HOUSTON — A man who served as MassMutual and other insurance products sales manager is facing a breach of contract suit after failing to abide by a lease agreement and went to work for a competitor.

James Starnes filed a complaint  March 12 in the Harris County District Court against Domingo Pilarte alleging breach of contract. 

Starnes alleges in his suit that he entered into a contract in December of 2018 for Pilarte to serve as sales manager for MassMutual and other life, health and annuity products. Starnes also claims Pilarte failed to make payments on a 24-month lease agreement, quit working for him and took a job working for his competitor. 

Starnes seeks monetary relief of $96,000, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Attorney Lance Arney in Houston.
