Woman sues Bounce Energy for allegedly trying to collect debt after she filed for bankruptcy

SHERMAN — A Collin County woman claims Bounce Energy illegally tried to collect her debt despite receiving notice of her bankruptcy filing and Discharge Order from a Bankruptcy Court. 

Tricia Baysinger frequently known as Tricia Crawford, filed a complaint in the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Bounce Energy Inc., alleging violation of the Texas Debt Collection Act, invasion of privacy and other claims. 

The plaintiff filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 25, 2012. She alleges that Bounce Energy sent her an email on Oct. 29. 2012, demanding payment of $242.56. The plaintiff also claims that in February of 2013, Bounce Energy was sent a Discharge Order by the Bankruptcy Court but still made collection calls to her cell phone, sent letters, emails and notices to her in an effort to collect payment. 

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Attorneys James Manchee and Marilyn Altamira in Plano.
