HOUSTON — A couple is suing Darling Homes of Texas alleging their home has several construction defects, such as water leaks.

Suhail Sharief and Faizunnisa Anwar filed a complaint in the Harris County District Court March 31 against Darling Homes of Texas LLC alleging negligence, violation of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, breach of express written warranties and other claims.

The plaintiffs purchased a home in Sugar Land from Darling Homes on April 22, 2016. They allege that the house has several defects including water leaks, musty mold smells, HVAC system and other construction issues. The plaintiffs claim that the issues were not visible prior to their purchasing the home and that Darling Homes' response in fixing the issues was inadequate.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by T. Ernest Freeman, FS. Field Hudgens and Cris Rasco of The Freeman Law Firm PC in Houston.
