HOUSTON — A woman is suing a Houston physician, alleging her bladder was punctured during her hysterectomy.

Leeanna Irving filed a complaint May 1 in Harris County District Court against Diane Hughes, MD, PA, doing business as The Women's Center of Greater Houston, alleging negligence.

Irving underwent a laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy performed by Hughes on May 3, 2018, at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. Irving alleges that her bladder was punctured during the procedure, which caused urine to leak into her vagina. Irving claims the damage to her bladder caused her to suffer "life-altering" medical issues and required her to undergo several additional surgeries over the next several months.

Irving seeks monetary relief, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Bridgit White and Mark Midani of The Midani Law Firm in Houston.
