Law

Thompson Coburn LLP issued the following announcement on May 4.

Mass tort and product liability litigator Dawn Wright has joined Thompson Coburn’s Dallas office as a partner. Dawn was previously a partner at Thompson & Knight, where she served as the chair of the firm’s industry group for torts, products liability, transportation, chemicals, and manufacturing.

For more than 20 years, Dawn has represented major product manufacturers and chemical distributors in products liability and mass tort litigation involving asbestos, silica, benzene, TCE, chlorinated solvents, and other substances. She has managed, defended and resolved cases involving thousands of plaintiffs for national product manufacturers in trial courts across Texas, and served as co-national asbestos litigation counsel in jurisdictions throughout the country.

Dawn also represents health care companies in a range of matters, including contract disputes, payor disputes with insurers and issues involving all types of business agreements.

“Dawn is a highly respected litigator in the fields of toxic tort and product liability,” said Nicole Williams, the managing partner of Thompson Coburn’s Dallas office. “She has helped major auto manufacturers and chemical distributors craft effective strategies for large portfolios of claims across the country, and represented health care companies in a range of business-critical disputes. In short, she will be an outstanding addition to our litigation team in Dallas.”

“I’m very proud and excited to bring my practice to Thompson Coburn, which has a rich history of representing companies in major litigation across the country,” said Dawn. “I look forward to building our presence in Texas and working with our litigation teams on matters for clients in a large variety of industries.”

Dawn earned her J.D. from Baylor Law School. She earned a B.S. in Speech Communications from The University of Texas at Austin.

Dawn serves the board of TACA, Dallas’ leading nonprofit arts organization, and serves as a grants panelist for TACA’s grants programs. She is a founding member and government chair of Women with Promise, which provides college scholarships and professional mentorship to north Texas women emerging from challenging circumstances. Dawn is also a founding member of the Young Leaders Board of the former YWCA of Metropolitan Dallas (now WiNGS), and a member of the Ambassador’s Council for The University of Texas at Austin.
