HOUSTON — A former KIAH and Nexstar Media Group female executive claims she faced gender and age discrimination, including receiving less pay than her male counterparts.

Peggy Nan Moore filed a complaint June 16 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against KIAH LLC and Nexstar Media Group Inc., alleging violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and The Equal Pay and The Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

Moore, a 66-year old female, began working for the defendants on Jan. 17, 1978. According to her complaint, she started working as a technician and "worked her way through the ranks" for more than 40 years. In January of 2016, Moore became the second female to hold the director of technology position out of 42 company directors.

Moore claims that she was required to perform both the duties of her new position as well as her previous operations manager position while being paid a lessor salary than male employees who had held the job.

Moore also alleges when the company alleged it was eliminated positions she, as well as the other female director, were laid off. She claims her position was not eliminated and was offered to a younger male employee after her firing.

Moore seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Ellen Sprovach of Rosenberg/Sprovach in Houston.
