HUSCH BLACKWELL LLP: Non-Federal Views of Army Corps Levee Safety Proposal

Microphone2 1000x667

Husch Blackwell LLP recently issued the following announcement.

For the past several years, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Army Corps) has been broadening its Levee Safety Program through issuance of various guidance documents. The Army Corps is purportedly consolidating that guidance into Engineering Circular (EC) 1165-2-218: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Levee Safety Program, released in draft form and presently available for public comment through July 27, 2020. A review of the proposed EC reveals that the Army Corps has gone beyond already-issued guidance and seeks to impose new requirements or obligations onto local sponsors.

In this webinar, you’ll learn about the substance and practical implications of the proposed EC from the non-federal perspectives of policy advisors, attorneys and a local sponsor. The hour-long presentation will be followed by a moderated 30-minute dialogue with webinar participants.
