HOUSTON — A man alleges he slipped at a Stripes convenience store in Katy and suffered injuries.
David Sherrouse filed a complaint Nov. 6 in the Harris County District Court against Stripes LLC and the J Corman Family Limited Partnership #4 alleging negligence.
According to his complaint, Sherrouse claims he was walking inside the Stripes convenience store on Clay Road in Katy on Jan. 2, 2019. He alleges he stepped on "liquid and/or a piece of food" and slipped and fell. Sherrouse alleges he suffered pain, physical impairment, mental anguish, disfigurement and loss of enjoyment of life.
He also claims he has suffered lost wages and will require future "pharmaceutical and/or medical expenses" due to the alleged fall. Sherrouse alleges Stripes' negligence for failing to "adequately warn" him of the "unreasonably dangerous condition."
He also alleges the defendants' negligence for failing to keep their premises in a safe condition, failing to train and supervise their employees and for failing to "perform routine maintenance and safety inspections."
Sherrouse seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1million, trial jury and all other proper relief. He is represented by Michael Pierce and Eduardo Garza of Pierce Skranbanek PLLC in Houston.
