HOUSTON – A woman is claiming she slipped and fell on an accumulation of water at the Greenspoint Mall in Houston.

Ericka Mayo-Dougal filed a complaint on Jan. 7 in Harris County District Court against Triyar Management Inc., alleging negligence.

The plaintiff was visiting the Greenspoint Mall in Houston on Dec. 19, 2020, the complaint stated. She alleges that while walking through the mall property, which is owned and managed by the defendant, she slipped on a puddle of water that had accumulated on the floor. The plaintiff claims she suffered pain, mental anguish and physical impairment. She also claims that she has incurred medical expenses as a result of the alleged fall, along with lost wages.

Mayo-Dougal alleges that Triyar Management was negligent because they did not maintain and inspect their premises and failed to take "reasonable measure" to protect guests on the property. She further alleges Triyar failed to inform her of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Assumpta Iheaso of The Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
