HOUSTON – A Fort Bend County man is suing Home Depot for injuries he allegedly received more than two years ago after grabbing a piece of splintered wood.

Seeking between $250,000 and $1 million in damages, Larry Hernandez filed suit against Home Depot U.S.A. on Jan. 21 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on Dec. 6, 2018, Hernandez was shopping at a Home Depot on Hillcroft. He picked up a 2x6 when “a jagged splintered piece of wood became embedded in his hand.”

Hernandez is accusing Home Depot of “negligently permitting” the  “dangerous condition.”

He is suing for his alleged pain, mental anguish, loss of earnings, medical expenses, impairment and disfigurement.
