HOUSTON — A welder claims the lack of safety protocols caused him to fall headfirst and suffer severe injuries while working at a plant in Snyder.

Robert Eure filed a complaint  Feb. 25 in Harris County District Court against Kinder Morgan CO2 Co., LP, Morgan Contracting Services LLC, Liquids Terminals LLC, Scurry Connector LLC and others.

Eure alleges in his suit that while doing welding work for National Mechanical Services on March 23, 2019, at the Kinder Morgan Plant on County Road 226 in Snyder, he lost his footing and fell 10 feet headfirst onto the floor of a generator and suffered "serious and extensive" injuries. He claims this was his first day on the job and the first time working at this location when he was asked to weld overhead lugs by climbing up and standing on the generator housing which was a "position of known danger."

Eure also claims the defendants failed to take any precautions for his safety such as a harness or other "personal fall protection" such as scaffolding requested in work permits. Eure further alleges the defendants violated OSHA safety standards and regulations.

Eure seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Matthew Soyars of Bailey & Galyen in Texarkana.
