HOUSTON — A Houston bar and restaurant is facing a negligence claim from a customer who alleges she slipped on a wet floor and suffered severe injuries.

Dakesha Dixson filed a complaint March 10 in Harris County District Court against Olive & Twist Bar and Kitchen alleging negligence.

According to Dixson's complaint, she was a customer at the Olive & Twist Bar and Kitchen in Houston on Nov. 14, 2020. She alleges that she slipped "on a wet floor," fell and suffered "severe, permanent and disabling" injuries that have required medical treatment and has also suffered lost earnings as a result of the fall.

Dixson claims the restaurant and bar failed to have any signs alerting people about the wet floor and did not maintain their premises in a reasonably safe manner.

Dixson seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Dan Ducote, Jr., of Moore Landrey LLP in Beaumont.
