HOUSTON – A local woman is suing the Wortham Center claiming she tripped on an “uneven surface” at the popular theater.

Seeking up to $200,000 in damages, Gloria Johnson filed suit against the Wortham Center, along with the city of Houston, on April 5 in Harris County District Court.

According to the lawsuit, on June 7, 2019, Johnson was entering the Wortham building when she tripped and fell on an uneven surface near the escalator and fell forward, striking her head against metal.

She is accusing the defendants of negligently failing to give adequate warning to invitees.

Johnson is suing for her alleged pain, mental anguish, impairment and lost wages.

Houston attorney Sofia Bruera represents her.
