HOUSTON — The owner of a Houston retail shopping center claims Comcast damaged the property's electrical wiring during installation work.

Chayn Mousa filed a complaint  May 27 in Harris County District Court against Comcast Cable Communications Management LLC and American Communications Construction Inc., alleging negligence and breach of contract.

According to Mousa's complaint, she has owned a "multi-unit retail shopping center" in Houston and requested Comcast to install cable communications service at the property. Mousa alleges that while performing the installation work on her property on March 12, 2021, Comcast cut into the electrical wiring and caused a loss of power and the burning of electrical wires which damaged the property.

She claims that Comcast has failed to repair the damage on her property and that according to their approval agreement, the company "shall repair any damage to the property caused by installation, operation or maintenance" of their equipment.

Mousa seeks monetary relief of $1 million or less, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by T. Michael Neville of T. Michael Neville PC in Houston.
