HOUSTON — A woman who slipped on a just mopped floor of The Roastery restaurant and suffered serious injuries is claiming premises liability.

Shawneeque Nealy filed a complaint June 7 in Harris County District Court against Teh Roastery LLC doing business as The Roastery alleging premises liability.

Nealy alleges in her complaint that while at The Roastery on June 15, 2019, she slipped on the floor near the restroom that had just been mopped. Nealy claims she suffered serious injuries including physical impairment and mental anguish and has incurred medical treatment expenses as a result of her injuries.

She alleges The Roastery's negligence for failing to adequately warn of the wet floor and failed to make the area reasonably safe when they were aware it "posed and unreasonable risk."

Nealy seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Joshua Hilbe of White & Harrison/Trial Attorneys in Houston.
