HOUSTON — A Brinks truck that leaked oil at a Houston convenience store caused a woman to slip, fall and suffer serious injuries, a suit alleges.

Nora Hilda Pecina Camacho filed a complaint June 16 in Harris County District Court against Panjwani Management LLC doing business as Star Shop 12 and Brinks Inc., alleging negligence.

The plaintiff alleges in her complaint that she stopped for gas at the Star Shop 12 convenience store on South Wayside Drive in Houston on April 21, 2020. She alleges that as she was exiting the building, she slipped on motor oil, fell to the ground and suffered "painful bodily injuries." The plaintiff claims the motor oil had leaked out of a Brinks truck that had arrived on the premises two hours earlier and that no signage or warning was posted to warn of the dangerous condition.

She alleges the negligence of Star Shop 12 for failing to keep their premises in a reasonably safe condition and failing to remove the slippery substance. She further alleges Brink's negligence for failing to properly inspect and maintain its vehicle.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Leena Joseph of The Law Offices of Domingo Garcia LLP in Houston.
