HOUSTON — An AC/Heating technician is accusing his employer of failing to provide him with proper training and safety equipment after he came in contact with electrical wires and suffered injuries.

Ernesto Roa filed a complaint June 24 in Harris County District Court against Mirtron A/C & Heating LLC and James Borg alleging negligence.

Roa was working for Mirtron on July 29, 2019, according to his complaint. He claims that as he was working on an AC unit at a home on Cypress Lane in Katy, he bent over and his head came in contact with electrical wires and suffered injuries. Roa alleges that he was not properly trained or supervised by Mirtron and that his employer failed to have adequate safeguards in place and failed to provide him with proper safety equipment and tools to perform his job.

He further alleges Mirtron did not carry worker's compensation insurance and as a result of the accident, he has suffered physical impairment, lost wages and has been faced with medical bills.

Roa seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, trial by jury and all other proper relief. He is represented by Michael Pierce of Pierce Skranbanek PLLC in Houston.
