HOUSTON — A woman is claiming negligence after allegedly slipping on water at a Houston meat market and suffering severe injuries.

Consuelo Martinez San Juan filed a complaint July 1 in Harris County District Court against LMMM Houston #73 LTD., doing business as Michoacana Meat Market alleging negligence.

Consuelo alleges in her complaint that while shopping at the Michoacana Meat Market located on Fuqua Street in Houston on May 18, 2020, she slipped on water and fell backwards. She claims that as a result of the fall, she has suffered severe injuries, physical impairment, mental anguish and incurred medical bills. Consuelo alleges the defendant failed to properly inspect and maintain their premises and that their employees "knew or reasonably should have known" of the dangerous condition and failed to warn of the hazard.

Consuelo seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Leena Joseph of The Law Offices of Domingo Garcia LLP in Houston.
