Mechanic sues employer after suffering burns from radiator

HOUSTON — A mechanic who suffered burns and other injuries while working on a radiator is claiming the negligence of his employer. 

Nelson Guevara filed a complaint July 15, 2021 against AAA Collision Center in Harris County District Court alleging negligence. 

Guevara, was working for AAA Collision on Washington Drive in Houston  on November 27, 2019, according to his complaint.  He alleges that while working on a radiator, he was “severely burned” and suffered permanent scarring and emotional scarring.  

Guevara claims AAA Collision's negligence for failing to provide a safe working environment, not properly giving their employees proper assistance and training or providing safety policies and procedures. He also claims AAA Collision failed to properly maintain their equipment and that as a result of the accident, he also suffered lost wages, disfigurement, impairment and incurred medical treatment expenses. 

Guevara seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest, trial by jury, and all other just relief. He is represented by Loren Klitsas of Klitsas and Vercher, P.C. in Texas.
