HOUSTON — A woman is claiming premises liability against Costco Wholesale Corporation after slipping on a tangerine peel at one of their Houston stores.

Shima Rouhi filed a complaint July 30 in Harris County District Court against Costco Wholesale Corporation alleging premises liability.

Rouhi claims in her suit that she was at a Costco in Harris County on Aug. 8, 2019. She alleges that the store had an area where tangerine samples had been set up for customers and that she slipped on a tangerine peel that had been dropped on the floor.

Rouhi claims she suffered injuries as a result of her fall and incurred medical treatment expenses as well as suffered lost wages, disfigurement and impairment. She alleges Costco's negligence for failing to keep their store premises in a reasonably safe condition, failing to remove the peel and did not warn of the dangerous condition which posed a risk of injury.

Rouhi seeks monetary relief of $250,000, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Robert McAllister, Jr.m of Robert A. McAllister, Jr., & Associates PC in Houston.
