HOUSTON — A woman is claiming negligence after falling on liquid that was on the floor of an Outback Steakhouse restaurant in Katy.

Yolanda Guevara filed a complaint July 26 in Harris County District Court against OSI Restaurant Partners LLC alleging negligence.

According to her complaint, Guevara was at the Outback Steakhouse on Katy Freeway in Katy on Aug. 3, 2019. She alleges that while on her way back from the restroom, she slipped on "a liquid" that was on the floor near her table and suffered injuries.

Guevara claims she led "a very active life" prior to her fall and that the injuries she suffered have caused her to suffer "significant pain," mental anguish, disfigurement and lost wages.

She also claims she has incurred costs for medical and psychological treatments and that the defendant is negligent for failing to inspect and keep their premises in a safe condition. Guevara alleges the defendant knew or should have known of the hazardous condition and failed to reduce eliminate or warn of the dangerous condition.

Guevara seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $ 1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Anissah Andang of Nguyen & Chen LLP in Houston.
