HOUSTON — A woman alleges she suffered serious injuries after slipping on a wet substance on the floor of a Houston convenience store.

Munda James filed a complaint Aug. 11 in Harris County District Court against Post Oak C Store LLC alleging negligence.

James claims in her suit that while shopping at the defendant's store on July 30, 2021, she slipped and fell on a "wet substance" that was on the floor on one of  the isles. She alleges as a result of the fall, she suffered severe injuries including disability, impairment, loss of earning capacity and incurred medical bills.

James claims the defendant's negligence for failing to maintain their store in a reasonably safe condition, failing to inspect the area or warn of the dangerous condition. She also claims the defendant failed to exercise "reasonable and ordinary care" towards her.

James seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Kathy Adibe of The Adibe Law Group LLC in Houston.
