HOUSTON — A customer claims she slipped on a liquid substance near the exit of a Houston Target store and suffered injuries.
Evelyn Walker filed a complaint Aug. 26 in Harris County District Court against Target Corporation alleging premises liability.
Walker was at the Target store on Main Street in Houston on Dec. 19, 2020, according to her complaint. She alleges that while exiting the store, she slipped and fell on "a clear liquid substance immediately next to the exit door."
Walker claims as a result of the fall, she suffered physical disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life and incurred medical bills. She alleges Target failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition, failed to warn of the hazard and failed to inspect its premises. Walker also alleges Target knew or reasonably should have known of the dangerous condition which posed an unreasonable risk of harm.
Walker seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by R. Clive Markland, Rob Cantu and Alejandra Munoz Torres of Roberts Markland LLP in Houston.
