HOUSTON — A Houston auto dealer is facing a fraud claim alleging they sold a Lexus SUV without a legal title.

Tu Anh Nguyen filed a complaint Aug. 25 in Harris County District Court against Orange Auto Sales and Bachar Al Obeidy alleging violation of the Texas Trade Practices Consumer Protection Act, breach of warranties, fraud and other claims.

Nguyen alleges in his complaint that Orange Auto Sales used fraud, misrepresentations and false promises to induce him into purchasing a 2013 Lexus RX 350 SUV for $15,000 on July 13, 2020. He specifically claims that the defendants failed to provide him with a "good, legal and marketable" title to the car which caused him to be unable to renew his vehicle registration, obtain insurance and other related transactions.

Nguyen claims Orange Auto's actions were in violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Consumer Protection Act and caused him to suffer loss of use and value of his vehicle, mental anguish  and other damages.

Nguyen seeks monetary relief of $250,000 or less, interest, and all other just relief. He is represented by Kevin Pham of The Pham & Nguyen Law Group PC in Houston.
