SAN ANTONIO – Former Bexar County District Attorney Nico LaHood wants to be a state representative now.

Rep. Lyle Larson, a Republican, currently holds the District 122 seat.

And although LaHood is calling himself a Republican now, if the past is any indicator, the attorney may receive generous donations from his fellow trial lawyers in his latest campaign bid.

During his time as DA, LaHood, who was still a Democrat at the time, received $110,000 in donations from lawyers he hired to represent the county in an opioid lawsuit.

Before he took office, LaHood received $700,000 in contributions from notable attorney Thomas J. Henry.
