HOUSTON — A woman who slipped on a "social distancing" sticker that fell on the floor of a Houston McDonalds is claiming premises liability.
Chisandra Espino filed a complaint Oct. 4 in Harris County District Court against Houstondrive LLC alleging premises liability.
Espino was at the McDonalds on Antoine Drive in Houston on Oct. 9, 2020, according to her complaint. She alleges that while at the restaurant, she slipped on a "social distancing" sticker that was left on the floor and suffered "severe and lasting" injuries.
Espino also alleges as a result of those injuries she suffered pain, mental anguish, impairment, disability, lost wages and incurred medical treatment expenses. She claims the defendant failed to warn of the unreasonably dangerous condition, failed to make its premises safe and should have known of the risk of harm the dangerous condition exposed to invitees on its premises.
Espino seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Michael Pierce and M. Paul Skrabanek of Pierce Skrabanek PLLC in Houston.
