HOUSTON — A couple alleges the contractor they paid for renovations to their home failed to complete the work.

Paul Cook and Erika Cook filed a complaint Oct. 11 in Harris County District Court against Envy Me Outdoor Design LLC alleging breach of contract.

According to the Cooks' complaint, they hired Envy Me on May 12, 2021, to renovate their newly purchased residence in Huffman for $62,800. They allege Envy failed to complete the renovations by the scheduled completion date of Aug. 2, 2021, and that Envy encouraged them to purchase appliances on their own to speed up the work and that they have only been reimbursed for half of their out of pocket expenses including storage fees.

The Cooks further allege that they paid Envy draws prior to the work being performed and that the last payment was for work that was never completed. They claim Envy is in breach of contract which has caused them to hire a replacement contractor.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief of more than $250,000, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Karalynn Cromeens and Kelly Stamy of The Cromeens Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
