HOUSTON — A Houston auto dealer is being accused of failing to provide and transfer the title to a vehicle.

Shane Guyer filed a complaint Oct. 10 in Harris County District Court against Autobyzack Inc., doing business as ABZ Motors alleging violation of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, fraud and breach of contract.

According to his complaint, Guyer purchased a 2014 BMW from ABZ Motors located on Southwest Freeway in Houston on May 18, 2021. He claims that ABZ told him the title to the car would be transferred and that he financed the vehicle through his credit union.

Guyer claims that by July 17, 2021, the vehicle's temporary tags had expired and that  ABZ failed to provide him with a valid license plate and title for the car and would not respond to his requests. He further claims he has been left without transportation and that the credit union advised him that he was in default of his loan agreement since the vehicle had no title. Guyer alleges ABZ frauduently represented it would transfer and supply the title to the vehicle.

Guyer seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Anthony Smith of The Law Office of Anthony Ray Smith PLLC in League City.
