HOUSTON — Westlake Chemical is facing a suit after workers were injured during an explosion at their Lousiana plant.

Pedro Merette Oballe, Pedro Maldonado and Kennette Navedo Ramos filed a complaint Oct. 15 in Harris County District Court against Westlake Chemical Corporation, Westlake Chemical Energy LLC, Westlake Chemical OPCO LP and Wastewater Specialities LLC alleging negligence and premises liability.

The plaintiffs were working at the Westlake Chemical Petro Complex in Sulphur, Louisiana on Sept. 27, 2021. The plaintiffs allege that as a result of the explosion, they have also suffered loss of earning capacity and incurred medical bills and expenses.
