HOUSTON — A former Zayo Group female employee alleges she faced retaliation for reporting gender discrimination.

Jacqueline Camille Pappas filed a complaint Oct. 19 in Harris County District Court against Zayo Group LLC alleging violation of the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act.

Pappas, according to her complaint, was employed by the Zayo Group from September 2017 through March 11, 2020. She alleges her account director, Jon Roche treated her differently than her male co-workers including talking to her differently and canceling and avoiding meetings.

Pappas alleges that in 2018, she reported the gender discrimination she faced from Roche as well as the discrepancies in incentive payments versus her male counterparts. She further alleges that after being reassigned to work under Roche, he took away most of her accounts, including a customer that would have resulted in a $500,000 commission payment and set up other ways for her to fail in retaliation.

Pappas seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Hessam Parzivand of The Parzivand Law Firm PLLC in Sugar Land.
