Woman falls on leaking water from Bombshells bathroom, sues restaurant for $1M

HOUSTON — A woman who fell on water leaking from a bathroom at a restaurant in Katy is claiming negligence. 

Maria Rodriguez Ruiz filed a complaint Oct. 26 in Harris County District Court against Bombshells LLC, RCI Holdings Inc., doing business as Bombshells Restaurant & Bar and BMB Dining Services Inc., doing business as Bombshells Restaurant & Bar alleging negligence. 

According to her complaint, Ruiz was at the defendant's restaurant on Katy Freeway in Katy on Dec. 14, 2019. She alleges that she slipped and fell on water that was coming from the bathroom as she was walking through the restaurant and suffered injuries. She alleges the defendant failed to clean up the water which created a dangerous condition and created an unreasonable risk of harm. Ruiz also alleges the defendant failed to warn of the danger. She claims as a result of her slip and fall, she suffered disfigurement, mental anguish, lost wages and incurred medical care expenses. 

Ruiz seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Attorney Kraig Rushing in Houston.
